Dave's Homeroast Coffee Feature/Review!

~Interview with Dave from Dave's Homeroast Coffee~

1. Tell us about yourself.
I am a professional journalist who was looking for better coffee and became a homeroaster. I am a lifelong Midwesterner who is married and has two sons, one of whom has special needs.

2. What inspired you to start your shop?
I was in the habit of giving my coffee away and realized that was a bad idea. By selling it, the people who want it can get it. The money goes to a charity related to my older son's illness.

3. What is your favorite blend of coffee currently in your shop and why?
It's like choosing my favorite child. But you've reminded me that I need to restock. I order all my raw coffee from Sweet Maria's. They cater to homeroasters and provide a lot of information about their products.

4. 5 Words to Describe you
-Creative
-Strange
-Thoughtful
-Dry
-Overweight

5. What would be your advice to other Etsy sellers?
Superserve everyone individually.

6. Your favorite quote of saying..
"Oh, my."

**My Review**
I was ecstatic when I found out that I would be doing a feature on Dave's Homeroast Coffee! Dave has really been a pleasure to work with. I absolutely love the fact that all of the proceeds from the coffee goes to a charity to fight Batten Disease, called BDSRA.

What is Batten Disease?
Over time, affected children suffer mental impairment, worsening seizures, and progressive loss of sight and motor skills. Eventually, children with Batten disease/NCL become blind, bedridden and unable to communicate, and, presently, it is always fatal.
Batten disease is not contagious or, at this time, preventable.

So, when I opened my mailbox the day I received it I could smell the aroma through the package! It smelled great! I could even go as far to say that it smelled better than some well known coffee franchises, but I won't go into detail with that.
The coffee that Dave's Homeroast sent me was the Guatemalan Antigua Retana Red Bourbon.  While I could have waited till the morning to brew some, I just couldn't wait! The aroma filled the house and when the classic beeping of my coffee pot went off, I took out like a bat out of (you know where..LOL).
I added some Spenda and some Sweet Italian Cream to it...YUMMY!
I HIGHLY recommend this coffee to you guys!

RockyJae Designs Review and Giveaway!

Etsy Feature:
RockyJae Designs

Interview with RockyJae Designs:

 Tell us about yourself,Racquel.

I have been making jewelry since my sophomore year in high school, 2001, in Thousand Oaks, CA. After selling jewelry right off my neck, I realized I could make a business out of my passion! So Exciting! I have always appreciated art/Fashion and have always loved crafting. My high school career was difficult, to say the least, as my mom,  step-dad and I did not get along. I moved out the beginning of my senior year and worked three jobs and finished high school. I moved to Idaho, as soon as I graduated, with my high school sweet heart and started to pursue my jewelry making career in Boise, Idaho. I was very successful doing home shows and selling/consigning to shops.
Eventually my high school sweet heart and I ended things, leaving me in Idaho with no family, but amazing friends. I started moving around, starting in McCall, ID and then to Chelan, Washington where I still have jewelry consigned. When I came back to Boise, ID in 2010 I met the man of my dreams, Josef. We married a few months before he left for Iraq with the Army. We have a beautiful two year old daughter together and I inherited three amazing step children ages 10-6yrs old! My daughters and I love crafting together and they are the reason why I branched out to hair accessories and all the other fun girly items RockyJae Designs makes:)

What inspired you to start your shop?

I opened this shop to reach out to new clients outside of Boise, ID and hope to one day design jewelry for movies and fashion week! I only do booth events ever once in a while because family and starting College again, so this shop is my only real outlet for my art.

What is your favorite item currently for sale in your

shop?

These chandelier earrings are my favorite creation so far because the detail in wire wrapping and the look they give for any outfit. They are like that high fashion hippie chick look;)

4 Words to Describe you?

-Artistic
- Fun
- Enthusiastic
Adventurous

What would be your advice to other Etsy sellers?

To remember why you started making what you make now, not to make money, but to share your passion/art to others.

If you could have lunch with 3 people....living or
dead.....who would they be and why?

1: Jesus, because he is my inspiration to living the way I do and I just think it would be an amazing thing to meet the man who saved us from our sin and better yet taught us to be honest, loving people without judgement on how others live. I feel that religion is lost and we get caught up in what is the true religion or who will be saved or not. Or even if the bible is really GODS word.

2: Pablo Picasso, because his art is so mysterious and there are so many different interpretations of his work that it would be fun to compare them to what he says:) Really any artist we study today.

3: Albert Einstein:) I think he could help me through College;)

~Giveaway~
RockyJae Designs has generously offered to give 1 of my readers the necklace shown below or $40.00 Store Credit! Your choice!

From RockyJae Designs:
The pink necklace has multiple different stones and Swarovski Crystals. The center piece is a faceted Jade stone wire wrapped with Sterling Silver wire and Sterling Silver chain. This necklace can be extended to whatever size needed, long or short, because of the chain that dangles from the clasp. It's retail value is $65. My wire wrapping is unique because I take the time to wire wrap a few times after making the loop to connect the bead, this makes it impossible to disconnect from the necklace/earrings i make (like most cheaper jewelry made). So when you baby pulls on your necklace, the loop connecting the bead cannot be opened and detach!
